Are you eclipsed too?

Are you eclipsed too?

It is a big deal in Europe!  The hotels in Spain are all booked up; the media buzz is ablaze. But come to find out, nature, too, goes into a frenzy at an eclipse event. Are you the same?

Many animal species close up shop for the day; others begin too early. Some even have bizarre behaviour on record.  Have a look online to read for yourself. Even plants react.

How is it in our lives when the 'light' of our lives suddenly disappears 'out of the blue', so to speak?  We react as well, somehow going into survival or protection mode.  We get depressed when that light, be it a long-held hope, a relationship, a loss of health or fortune, hits us.

That means one thing: our 'light' was the wrong one! Don't get me wrong-- we have many lights in life that brighten our days. Nothing wrong with that, of course.  But what is our main 'light', our 'sun ', coming from?  Have you thought about it?  The joy in life, the driving element? What happens if it suddenly disappears?

When that thing or person is no longer there, shining, warming our lives, and things like that take hits all the time, we can collapse.  The stories of lives ravaged by disaster, loss of loved ones, and the absence of their light tell the tale best.  Some folk take the blow and, with time, recover, even becoming stronger than ever. We have all heard those stories. Others never recover...

What is the 'sun' of your existence?  If you haven't thought about it, do! Your future might be transformed in the choices you make to change that.

The love of God can be that shining light in life.  He is for me and many of the people I know. Our lesser lights take hits too, but we can still rest in HIS overwhelming love and care in life and trust His wisdom and direction for the rest. The Son of God is our sun; He shines each day. Whatever the clouds cover, storms or the seasons and years bring, He shines in our hearts!

I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

John 12:46

And HE is the one light that can never be eclipsed!
