His Jewels?

 Believers are seen as sparkling, precious stones! What?!

Yes, but you know what that means... Our lives need to undergo the process to get that rough lump of rock to the 'gleaming' stage.

No wonder a believer's life is often filled with pain!

First, we are found, be it in a streambed or a mine.  Planning goes into getting those rough gems, mixed with other minerals and stones, to the stage where they can be used. One source states that these stones are then cleaved along natural fissures in the stone, essentially broken apart along the weakest points.

Yikes!  If we compare ourselves to those stones in the hands of our Lord, we must then be broken apart, each differently, to find the inner natural beauty that He is looking for. 

Then the sawing and shaping progress.  Finally, the faceting, at specific angles, of the stone brings out its natural sparkle.  At all stages, there is cleaning and polishing.

Well, we jewels get the treatment, don't we!? The 'scream' part of the saw, to get to the stage where we can 'gleam' when finally mounted to that crown.

 They (that's us!) will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown, as the verse says.  So, all the trouble life can bring will refine us into gemstones. 

Let's continue to trust the Great Lapidary of souls to get just the radiance out of us that He desires!
