What Is Your Internal GPS Telling You?

What Is Your Internal GPS Telling You?

Everyone knows the GPS we use is the Global Positioning System of satellites allows us to find our way from point A to point B.  Having used it often, we know it can be the ideal way to get to a location, even providing a time of arrival, not to mention alternative routes if needed.

But were you aware that believers in Christ are given a GPS, so to speak?  A God's Path-finding Sensor that we can follow to find our way in life:

  • first, finding HIM
  • finding our way forward in growth,
  • and often, finding specifics for service.

He, the Holy Spirit, makes the way to Him, the Saviour, clear, if we are seeking it, that is.  Do not be deceived.  If you are not looking for God, and with your whole heart, you are not likely to find Him.

BUT, if He is seeking YOU, then you will feel a desire to 'find answers' for your life.  You will probably be discouraged with life as you have lived it till now; you might yearn for a new start, seek a greater purpose for living than the world around you seems to offer. You will look into places you would not have so long ago.

That is Him. He is touching your life; it is not just you being dissatisfied or bored. The Holy Spirit works within our conscience and our circumstances to lead us down roads of knowledge and help.

And those roads are many!  Just listening to the stories tells you that!

Some seekers move to God from life lessons, others from God's word as revealed in the Bible saga, as well as lessons from believers who have walked the path ahead of us and signaled back directions.

Then, the Holy Spirit takes these and we react — we can follow His directions, ignore them, or rebel — going off-course on 'sightseeing' trips where our desires drive us, speed us along, or even cause us to crash. We either turn toward Him or away.

Eventually, we reap the results, some landing in ravines or lakes, as the infamous, erroneous car GPS signals have been known to lead some drivers astray, instead of to the destination they were seeking.

These followers then have to reboot, come back if given another chance by grace, only He can lead us out of those 'lost' places and back onto His way.

For those who choose to follow, growth is the desire of our hearts.  We can only move forward. Clinging to God's word, prayer, and fellowship all help us move forward.  In all this, though, HE must be our desire for all.

Then, that wondrous third area, some seek further direction, not how to live their daily lives, for that is not the same for us all beyond the calling to holy living, but where and in which specifics of gifting we use for His kingdom, His glory.  This is tailor-made to fit each believer individually, or at least that is what my experience has shown me.

That very leading brought me across the world, and I am not the only one to know that type of 'GPS leading.'  There have been many who have received such.  The Holy Spirit gives various gifts by which we live out our lives in service to God, family, church, and especially, HIS mission of bringing the truth to everyone with ears to hear.

The 'God's Paths System'  GPS is a lifelong journey.  It can include hairpin turns, hard, barely visible paths, and the higher roads we often long to see but cannot even glimpse from where we are standing at present.

Wherever He has brought us, it is still not the final destination of HIS heavenly kingdom.  Our hope will one day be fulfilled when we pull up to heaven's doors and are greeted by our loving Lord! Then faith finishes, and joyous fulfillment begins!!

So, if you have found the grace that has carried you to salvation, look further and find the path that leads you higher and further on your way -- and one day, the joy of the salvation awaiting you!
