Train those heart eyes...

I love watching nature's creatures in action. The sneaky, 'you-can't-see-me'  bird, fox, or other critter action that needs real attention to catch is a delight! We have inherited a beautiful world chock full of wonders to learn from.

Learn we might, but there is a condition.

On a forest walk, you have to 'want' to see, to pay attention to the slightest movement or rustle of leaves signaling a bird or deer. That means turning off the headphones, local inner chatter, and the brain noise of our own thinking.

But there is a whole spiritual world we walk through each day beyond this...

Our hearts have the capacity to 'see' what God has for us in and through these things and His word. We begin to notice the intricacies of His provision, the beauty of the church as its members were meant to care for one another, and the depth of the Scriptures as we encounter ever deeper truths of who HE is over time.  Then there is this verse:

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,

Ephesians 1:18

We are not able to know without HIS enlightenment.  WE are HIS inheritance.  And there is great riches in us. You have to let that sink in for a while. But first, you have to seek Him so that He can reveal it to you.

When you begin to comprehend all its facets, the richness of His gifts to us and of us as His body, you can spend a lifetime finding reasons to rejoice.

But it takes meditating on that fact as we walk through life and choose to see the intricate beauty of all that HE has placed in the spiritual forest around us through His great gift of grace in Jesus Christ!

The by-products?  Peace, joy, and all the fruit His Spirit lavishes on those who walk with heart eyes open!

So let's spend time seeking Him.  He wants to show Himself to all who seek...
