Wanna Play?
Let's play 'follow the leader,' and not 'hide and seek' this year!
You know what I mean? We hide from the Lord and make Him seek us all the time. His Holy Spirit spends an untold number of hours convicting us of our stupid 'hiding places.'
Like our then-three-year-old grandson, we like to hide in plain sight. Well, our plain sight...
"Hee, hee, hee," came the snickers from behind the door. Teddy would never win at the game of Hide and Seek. He couldn't keep quiet.
Now he is a savvy four-year-old and is the champ of the game when we can play. He gets into the smallest spots and doesn't make a peep.
Don't we do the same with our Father in prayer? We try to hide what we refuse to put to death in our old natures. We can keep the 'nasties' hidden from everyone else, but not HIM.
Let's start a new game. Chase! We, chasing HIM in prayer, seeking to know Him better! Or better yet, follow the leader!
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."
Luke 9:23And after the meeting... broke up, many.... followed Paul and Barnabas, who, as they spoke with them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.
Acts 13:43Strive with me to become like a child in seeking the love of the Father and then continue doing what He tells me, and not what I think best. The old hymn says it best:
Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
