The moment I saw this painting I was moved!  How about you?

The church is Christ's bride, and we know He is to return for us.  How wonderfully this inspired artwork draws out the longing, the barrenness of the world she waits in, the hope and patience as she looks to heaven.

Did you see the little green patch under her feet?  The place we inhabit in Christ is a place of growth and freshness.  It is the only green as all else is an arid wasteland.

The picture describes the world we inhabit.  Joyless and dry, cracked and overcast-- here is only barrenness. Any perusal through our windows, computer or otherwise,  can draw a comparison.  On the other hand, the bride stands in that place her Lord has given her.  And there is life there. But she longs to be with Him.

The longing is real.  Nothing can be right in our world until HE comes.

Come, Lord Jesus!
