Mountain Movers!

Mountain Movers!

Throughout history, believers have witnessed something extraordinary: mountains moving out of their way. Could you be one of them?

These aren't literal mountains, of course—they're the seemingly impossible obstacles that stand between us and God's calling. Yet somehow, for those walking faithfully with Christ, these barriers no longer block the path forward. Sometimes they just disappear.  But not always.

The Pattern of Partnership

It starts with obedience. When we follow Christ's calling and come to Him in prayer, He reveals His plan to us. We pray in agreement with His will, and then we join Him in the work. He sets us on the path, provides the vision and strategy, and supplies the resources and power to see it through.

You see it?  He shows, He supplies, and He empowers.

Our role? We say yes—and then we roll up our sleeves to do the practical work He's shown us. And we pray on!

This beautiful partnership has played out countless times across missions, churches, families, and individual lives.

Mountains Fall in Different Ways

Sometimes those mountains crumble instantly, miraculously. But more often, moving them requires time, effort, and persistence—what we might call the "sweat and shovels" approach. The balance between divine intervention and sheer effort varies.

The earth-rumbling stories are everywhere if we're willing to look: doors swinging open at just the right moment, resources appearing when needed most, new territories being reached with the gospel, and dormant communities coming back to life. We're living in an era where these testimonies surround us, ready to inspire and teach. I've even seen a few myself.

Not always

Yet for every victory, there are struggles too. Some ground is lost. Churches face persecution. Certain obstacles remain stubbornly in place. And perhaps most disturbing of all, some believers grow weary and lay down their shovels and walk away.

I've seen some of those as well. Some are heartbreaking, others are a call to prayer, and patience...

Make no mistake—this is a battle, and it demands much of us. That's why we need what Paul describes: "...being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience..." (Colossians 1:11).

Your Mountain Awaits

So, that begs the question: Are you a mountain mover?

Whatever goal Christ has placed before you, set your prayer to work on it. He's waiting for you to agree to take part in His calling—first through prayer, then through action.

Remember this truth: "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10).

Which 'good work' is the mountain in front of you? God has already prepared you to move it. Will you pick up your shovel and join Him in the work?
