Bug bite battles!

Has the aerial assault started where you live?  You know the one. Those dreaded drones that send their high-pitched, winged attack into our bedrooms to ward off sleep, all while they make their bombing run toward any uncovered body part left to their mercy! 

We can all agree that the mosquito is one creature we could all live without!

Other similar attacks are going on that you might not have considered...

What about those 'less-than-savory' thoughts that show up, the ones that we have to swat away? The buzzing drone of resentment, the envious element that leads to unhappiness, the hate-fed or lustful ones that we keep spraying with our willed 'thought repellent,' but the sneaky beasties keep finding a way back. This is the battle most of us face.  And boy, the itch that these create when they get under our skin, our protective layer!

Then, look out!  We can get infected by such small thoughts that trouble us with a constant itch that needs scratching! And our minds have a nasty habit of finding the wrong ways to get relief...

But for those who call Jesus Lord, walking after Him, there is more than hope. Here are some ideas to brighten your day and prepare yourself for the next insurgence...

Close that window! Where is your mosquito screen? First, we have to eliminate the entrance of the winged nasties.  Something is letting the wrong thoughts in, and it might just be an open window into our warm, lighted soul! Is it your media diet that brings in ideas, little suggestions that your life is not as it should be? Blam!  Envy encroaches!

Is it your undisciplined thought-life? Are you giving no care to what you wear or where you walk in your thought-life?  That was mine... Letting your thoughts run amok is an open invitation, bringing the spiritual missiles homing in on you! Are you walking into mozzie territory?  Then, you're gonna get bit!

Another, and the biggest, help. Have your room, your soul, permeated with the scent, the savor of Christ, that repels those buggery thought attacks better than anything. It's like having a permanent spiritual S.W.A.T team on duty.  💪🏽  Then, with the persistent soul-suckers still up there, you can spray Bible verses, and it will bring them crashing down when they do get through.

If one does break through your defensive line, then your own fine 'fly swat' can do the job.  Those thoughts are often NOT yours anyway.  Thoughts dropped in from the enemy are easily recognized.  You know the ones?  They come out of nowhere.  Satan can only get through with the crazy ones--none of the others are let through by our above-described defensive line.  These pesky, idiotic ones you can laugh off or swat down in no time.

Those spiritual mozzies don't stand a chance!
