When Darkness Falls... His Promises Prevail

When Darkness Falls... His Promises Prevail

There are no words that help when the darkness overtakes our lives.  No comfort or distraction bears it away.  And yet...

Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord;  I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places.

Habakkuk 3:17–19

In the midst of shattered hopes, hopeless futures, or helplessness in the face of troubles, HE can be our strength, joy, hope, comfort, and all we need. The Old Testament reveals that he did it for the conquered of Judah, and brought them back from captivity.  The New Testament carries the theme that He sent the Lord, Jesus Christ, to save the nations. He has prevailed over death to bring His promises to pass.

If you are His, He has promised you His love and presence till our dying day and His taking us to be with Him beyond. Eternal, even though now darkened by time and trials.

Come. Walk the high places, like the sure-footed deer, with all who trust in the Lord of strength. HE will bring the new break of day out of our broken hearts.

He has done it before.  He will do it again. We wait in Him, with Him, in trust.
